Vinayaka Who Removes Obstacles

Vinayaka removes all harmful karmas: Vinayaka is capable of uprooting even the most severe difficulties. He quenches material desires and is the supreme Lord of both the heavens and the earth. By sincerely worshipping such a Vinayaka, one can live a life filled with many blessings.

Vinayaka – The First Deity to Worship

This powerful mantra, praised by the Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) and other Devas, is mentioned in the Skanda Purana and Devi Bhagavatam as possessing great energy. Lord Rudra first worshipped it, followed by Lord Angaraka (Mars) and King Mangala, achieving their desired goals. It is especially beneficial to perform this pooja and recite the stotram 108 times every Tuesday (Mangala Varam). Offering Mangala (auspiciousness) to unmarried girls is believed to bring about marriage and prosperity. Worshipping Goddess Durga during Rahu Kalam on Tuesdays is said to be highly effective. Regular worship during the Rahu Kalam for nine Tuesdays is believed to result in marriage for unmarried women and reduce Mars-related Dosha (Mangala Dosha).

Saraswati Ashtakam (Eight Verses on Goddess Saraswati)

Satanika said: O Great Sage, O one of great wisdom, knower of all scriptures, please tell me which chants or recitations should be done by a man bound by worldly actions to attain the supreme abode by mere remembrance and devotion.

Shaunaka replied: This very question was once asked by King Yudhishthira to Bhishma, the grand elder, the foremost knower of Dharma.

Yudhishthira asked: O Grandfather, O Great Sage, O one well-versed in the teachings of Brihaspati, tell me about the goddess praised by Brihaspati, who manifested herself radiant like a million suns.

Saraswati said: Choose your boon, O blessed one. Ask what your heart desires.

Brihaspati replied: If you are granting a boon, O Goddess, bestow upon me divine knowledge.

Saraswati said: Behold! I will give you pure knowledge that removes ignorance and uplifts the mind. Whoever recites this with devotion will attain supreme wisdom, rare even for the gods, by the grace of Mahamaya (the great illusion).

Saraswati continued: Whoever recites this Ashtakam thrice daily with purity and dedication, I will forever reside in their throat without doubt.
