Powerful Narasimha Stotram

Mother is Narasimha, Father is Narasimha,
Brother is Narasimha, Friend is Narasimha,
Knowledge is Narasimha, Wealth is Narasimha,
Lord is Narasimha, Everything is Narasimha.
Here is Narasimha, there is Narasimha,
Wherever you go, there is Narasimha.
There is none superior to Lord Narasimha,
Therefore, I surrender at the feet of Narasimha.

The Narasimha Vratam that Grants Royal Life

Lord Narasimha grants whatever is desired to those who worship Him with devotion. By observing the Narasimha Vratam (vow) and worshipping Him, obstacles from enemies are removed, and royal prosperity (a prosperous, dignified life) is attained.

The word “Narasimha” means “Radiant Light”. Though Lord Narasimha is considered one of the most fierce incarnations of Lord Vishnu, it is also one of the most beloved forms among devotees. Just like Prahlada, one should have unwavering devotion towards Lord Narasimha. Those who worship Him with such deep devotion will have their desires fulfilled by Lord Narasimha. Worshipping Him removes obstacles caused by enemies and brings royal prosperity and success.

Lord Narasimha incarnated during the month of Vaikasi (Tamil month), on the waxing moon phase (Shukla Paksha) Chaturthi (4th lunar day), exactly at twilight—the precise moment when it is neither day nor night, known as Narasimha Jayanti. It is considered highly auspicious to worship Him on this day, especially during the Swathi Nakshatra (star) under which He incarnated.

On Narasimha Jayanti, devotees should:

  • Take a bath early in the morning.
  • Clean their home and set up a lamp in front of Lord Narasimha’s image in their puja room.
  • Fast the entire day, consuming only water or liquids, and continuously chant Narasimha Stotram.
  • Special worship should be done between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
  • Use flowers, clothes, and food items (Naivedyam) that are typically offered to Lord Vishnu.
  • Offer Sevvarali flowers (Ixora flowers), sweet offerings like Sakkarai Pongal (sweet rice) and Panakam (jaggery drink).

To get relief from punishments due to sins committed knowingly or unknowingly, one should worship Lakshmi Narasimha. Completely surrender to Lord Narasimha and chant “Om Namo Narayanaya”. Lord Narasimha, who is compassionate like a mother, will free devotees from any punishments or sufferings.

Place His image facing east in the puja room. After bathing daily, recite the Narasimha Prapatti Sloka either 3, 12, or 28 times.

Powerful Narasimha Sloka

Narasimha is my mother, Narasimha is my father,
Narasimha is my brother, Narasimha is my friend,
Narasimha is knowledge, Narasimha is wealth,
Narasimha is the Lord and protector.
In this world and beyond, it is always Narasimha.
Wherever you go, Narasimha is there.
No one is superior to Narasimha.
Therefore, I completely surrender at the feet of Narasimha.

This sloka was bestowed by Mukkur Swamigal, the 44th pontiff of Ahobilam Mutt.

While chanting this sloka, light a lamp in front of Lakshmi Narasimha and offer freshly boiled and cooled milk or Panakam as Naivedyam. All family members should partake in the prasadam. This is a powerful sloka that brings immediate positive results.

By following this practice sincerely, the desired goal will be fulfilled within 48 days. Afterward, visit a Narasimha temple, light a ghee lamp, offer a Tulsi (holy basil) garland, and worship Him.

Benefits include:

  • Relief from debts.
  • Healing from illnesses.
  • Removal of marriage obstacles.
  • Blessings of progeny.
  • Career and employment opportunities.
  • Resolution of workplace issues.

The most auspicious time for daily Narasimha worship is during Pradosha period (1.5 hours before and after sunset), specifically from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, particularly on Chaturdashi days and the Akshaya Tritiya of Chithirai month.

“Om Ugra Veeram Maha Vishnum
Jwalantam Sarvato Mukham
Narasimham Bhishanam Bhadram
Mrityum Mrityum Namamyaham”

On waning moon Ashtami days (Theipirai Ashtami) during Rahu Kalam (4:30 PM to 6:00 PM), devotees can worship Sri Swarna Bhairava by chanting this moola mantra:

“Om Aem Aim Klaam Kleem Kloom Hraam Hreem Hroom Sagavams
Apathuththoranaya Ajaamilabandhanaya Lokeshwaraya
Swarnakarshana Bhairavaya Mama Daaridrya Vidhveshanaya
Om Shreem Maha Bhairavaya Namah”

People of Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Pisces, Aries, and Cancer zodiac signs who are affected by Saturn’s influence are advised to chant this mantra 330 times on these days. Before chanting, cut a white pumpkin, remove its inner part, light a sesame oil lamp inside it, and start the chanting. The number 33 is significant as it was granted by Kubera to Sri Sri Sri Swarna Akarshana Bhairava.

May all beings live happily and peacefully!
Tiruchitrambalam!!
