The Secret of Divine Rebirth

What is reincarnation? That is what is referred to as Dvijatva. Dvijatva signifies our second birth. A Dvija means, one with two births – a reincarnated person. The truth behind this is the purpose of this discourse.

When the body is weakened by diseases – when the body and soul experience suffering, it is said that the disease should be cured, isn’t it? That is, bad qualities should be transformed into good ones. The transformation of suffering into happiness is what is meant by change. Everyone would desire the removal of suffering and attainment of happiness, wouldn’t they? The aim of human effort is to remove suffering and attain happiness. This is known as “Siva Iyal” – the natural state of Siva.

Illness, old age, death, and birth are all sources of suffering. The eradication of these is what is called the ultimate abode. Just as clay contaminates a bronze vessel, the impurities in the body and soul—attachment, uncleanness—are the roots and causes of the suffering manifested as illness, old age, death, and birth. The fundamental impurity must be transformed into a state of purity. That is all. When such transformation occurs, the outcomes such as illness and other afflictions are converted and eliminated. This process is referred to as the state of being twice-born, where the impure body transforms into a pure form.

“To those who seek to remove illusion, He provided a path, let us walk that path ourselves,” and, “If you say Poonduruthi, Poonduruthi, you can drive away the tainted flesh,” thus preached Thirunavukkarasar, one of the religious leaders. Hence, it is well understood that by strictly following the Guru’s guidance and operating without deviation, one’s deluded body must be transformed into a sanctified state of Poonduruthi, which is nothing but the path to liberation through transformation. Understand this well, students. It must have dawned upon you that if the body transforms, the inseparable life force also transforms accordingly, without it being explicitly stated.

The body-life, which is filled with impurities, is what is referred to as life. The term “life” signifies both the essence and the mind – it is nothing but the combination of the essence and the mind that forms life. Without changes in the body, changes in the life are impossible. Is it not evident that emotions become dull when the body is unwell? When the body perishes, that is, at the time of death, consciousness and emotions cease, do they not? This is precisely what the Chandogya Upanishad emphasizes by stating that the physical being’s nature and activities are connected to the mind, while the life force is associated with water. Thus, the interrelationship between the body and life stands out as prominent as a mountain in water.

Changing bodily conditions and alleviating suffering to attain happiness can be said to be the ultimate goal beyond worldly means and is impossible through human efforts alone. No methods discovered through human endeavor, whether tricks, magic, yoga, meditations, or temporary remedies, can bring lasting joy or true happiness. This is an evident reality.

If such methods could be scientifically discovered through human effort, then what is the need for a virtuous guru or even a deity? When humans engage in research, they discover and utilize various devices, machinery, airplanes, and global business strategies. However, if the goal is to transcend rebirth, aging, disease, and death to attain supreme bliss, the appropriate path – the way to virtue – cannot be discovered through the efforts of humans with limited knowledge. This matter will always be beyond the thoughts, words, and deeds of human beings. The way to virtue means proceeding through the path of righteousness.

Throughout the world, there exist numerous ethical rules and principles that are seemingly – fictitiously – tailored to suit various types of practitioners. However, among all these, there exists one true ethical principle known as the “Guru Path,” which those endowed with the strength to seek it can follow. This path should be used solely for the inherent capability to discover true righteousness and not to cater to transient differences like variations in followers or rituals. We must understand this clearly here. The genuine ethical path, termed as the “Guru Path,” which is applicable to all sentient beings, has been defined and graciously laid out by the true Guru of wisdom, the venerable Nandi, the first Guru of Mount Kailash. We must fully comprehend this.

Saiva Samaya Thaninayaka Nandi

There is a guiding principle designed to uplift.
“Embrace the divine path of righteousness and salvation.”

The one who has destined and arranged for those in this world (Tirumandiram)

Thus spoke the truthful guru, having seen the righteous path, reborn and came as the world guru, revealing the truths of the Vedas, attaining the state of true liberation, our revered Thirumoolar, the leader and preceptor of our lineage.

The unique leader and the great chief of the Saiva faith is Nandi. Our inner fire itself is Nandi. We must first realize that the soul is the leader of the Saiva faith. That divine being came to us as Nandi, seated within us as our inner fire, to elevate us souls and to impart the supreme knowledge (Brahma Jnana) by coming as the true guru (Sadguru) and teaching us as Dakshinamurthy. Brahma Jnana must be attained through the initiation of Brahma Jnana Deeksha. Do you know what it means? The divine Siva path is indeed the path of righteousness.

Considering all living beings as one’s own self and showing them compassion, adhering to proper conduct and morality, is true penance. Learning and practicing this through a genuine guru is the path of virtue. All wise men have preached that such virtuous practice alone leads us to the divine. The essence of Saivism is indeed the path of virtue. The path of virtue guides us to Nandi (the sacred bull). Attaining Nandi thereby helps us realize Shiva. Shiva is the light, the supreme grace-bright light that is God.

By accepting the imaginary as the truth, not knowing how to be reborn differently, we see in Pattinathar’s song that striving to attain enlightenment by removing suffering and achieving eternal bliss is like trying to climb a slippery pole.

Why do you adorn yourself with ash and go to bathe, oh my mind

Drifting about in the river without knowing the shore. (Pattinathar)

This verse, containing the rare and great secret of the Vedas, is a blessing bestowed by the esteemed sage Pattinathar, who achieved eternal life through the grace of his guru. The method of rebirth – the true knowledge of the education known as immortal education must be understood through the guru’s grace to attain a higher state. Without this knowledge, merely believing the burnt ash symbolically as true ash and wearing it as a mark, immersing oneself in worldly holy waters, or chanting the seven-syllable mantras like “Nama: Swaha:” found in Vedic texts distributed around the world cannot yield true benefits. This symbolizes the agony of being unable to reach the shore while being stranded in the illusionary ocean called the universe. Therefore, it is emphatically stated and must be emphasized that through the grace of the true guru, one can achieve rebirth through righteous knowledge, attain happiness, escape the web of illusion, and attain eternal life. This necessity was strongly advocated by our sages even in ancient times.

Dance in the Ganges
Why not dance in the Kaveri?

“For those who do not believe in the omnipresent Lord, there is no refuge anywhere.”

(Appar – Pavanasa Thirukkurunthokai, Verse-2)

There is no God for those who do not say that He is everywhere – And, due to another birth, those who do not attain the friendly bliss of seeing Shiva everywhere in truth, will not attain salvation.

Those who search for holy water should dance

To dance in the holy waters, where would you say the clear water is?

Having clarified within yourself like pure water

Pure indeed is the Panchakshara “Sivaya Namah”

The five-letter mantra “Sivaya” – This is indeed the pristine state of the primordial sound “Aum”. For the true devotees who are reborn and transformed, this becomes the sacred and truthful offering of the Lord’s holy feet. This purifies the body and soul, bestowing eternal spiritual existence.

“Simple will argue our Lord”

Reflect on the light, let your mind melt into it

Clear chant, Sivaya Nama.

He will turn the whole group into gold with a touch of his pill (Thi.Ma.2709)

As Thirumoolar has graced us, we need to analyze it here.

Within the heart there lie many holy waters.

“Mella kudaindhu nindru Aadhaar vinaikedap”

Hollows and hills spread around

Those without education have a deceitful mind (Thirukkural 509)

Those who are reborn and find true sanctities within themselves and dance, are considered to have transcended attachments and bonds, achieving higher states. It is also understood that those who wander seeking the sanctities derived from imagination are devoid of true knowledge. The meaning of this Thirumantra song makes it clear that those who possess disciplined conduct comprehend this truth well.

Endurance flows to the summit.

Those with discerning wisdom are as rare as the rain that pours from the sky.

“The way the sky rains for the sword bearers”

Enjoying sweetness is there, clarity is there as well. (Thirukkural 804)

The honey river flows, my dear ghost.

“For those who have found the sacred feet”

There is no bodily defect, oh inner demon.

Do not seek anything (Aghappey Siddhar – 58)

Due to these, it is said to be the truthful holy water. The highest peak – moon’s realm. The celestial flow – sky Ganga – nectar. This is the true authentic Ganga; it radiates on Lord Shiva’s hair; it can be attained by those who are reborn. Attaining this is not an easy task. Bhagiratha’s effort is needed for every spiritual aspirant. If one is reborn with Bhagiratha’s effort, they can enjoy and revel in the true holy waters like the authentic Ganga and attain eternal bliss.

As stated here, could it be that all these Vedic texts dismiss and disregard all superstitions? No, it is not so. On the other hand, we must accept that these texts criticized the foolish belief that through superstitions and rituals one cannot attain truth and greatness, and thus rejected the notion of achieving salvation, i.e., death.

Rebirth is what grants eternal truth, signified by the sacred ash (vibhuti). It is the ash that results from the burning of the impure physical excrement within the body by the pure Shiva fire. This ash, having transformed from impure physical matter to pure physical matter, is known as ‘porsunnam’ or gold prepared ash. This ash, or vibhuti, bestows special wealth, offering supreme prosperity and the pleasures of Indra, while eliminating disease, old age, death, and rebirth, granting eternity. This ash is what adorns the red sapphire-like divine body of our Lord. This is…

If we diligently apply the sacred ash blessed by the Lord,
We will find joy and unwavering faith.
The burdensome karmas will dissolve,
And we will attain the revered feet of Lord Shiva,
Resplendent in all His glory.
(Thirumurai 1666)

This alone is protection – the body of protection – abandonment of the body – the pure body. The holy ash worn by true devotees who practice the penance of supreme knowledge is this. As a symbol of this, preparing ash by burning the dung of a cow, as it is hygienic, has become a common practice. This symbolic ash is believed to be the true essence of Saivam like ours. Only when one is reborn or attains twice-born status will the true ash, holy water, and similar things be witnessed. By believing in this symbolic falsehood as truth, one cannot achieve the benefits of dharma and the four goals of life. To reveal this, Appar Swamigal said, “What use is adorning oneself with ash if one does not bathe in purity?”

Only when one is reborn, the true Vedas – the mantras will be found – discovered and recited.

“Aravoli yagams, known and praised by the wise,”

“Resounding Vedic chants fill the skies, reverberating in harmonious response”

“They said, comrade Thambiran.”

Imaginary scriptures and mantras given in the world are all indeed true when they are used in a way that helps one achieve them through the guidance of a guru and nothing else.

Sivavakkiyar emphatically states that merely reading the Vedas available in the world will not yield real benefits, and that true eternal value is attained only by being reborn and discovering and reciting the genuine Vedas.

“Chants, the four Vedas, and all scriptures”

Though you chant securely, you do not understand Shiva

Once you have understood the nature of lust in your consciousness

Mute as a wound he remains, our Lord indeed (Sivavakkiyar-18)

If one considers understanding lust by not yielding to it, it means that lust should be overcome by moderation and control. The attainment through lust is love. A person immersed in lust is not qualified to recite the Vedas. In that case, those who instigated lust in our bodies are the rightful owners of its benefits. Hence,

“As love melts and overflows with tears

The reader ………………………”

Those who recite the Vedas, blessed with the grammar by Jnanasambandar. This love itself is described by the wise as the four-letter word “Namachivaya”. Thus, this genuine love elevates the Vedic reciters to the path of righteousness. This love is indeed the form of Lord Skanda (Murugan).

“The grand form of Kandazhi, who creates and destroys.”

“Who will look at the unseeing?”

Our ancestors said. “Tear-filled” does not refer to the excretion of impure water from the eye; it is not about the weeping of this world; it is not about the maya tear, the illusionary crying. The water that moves in the center of the eye’s iris is impure. During the time of love, this impure water transforms into pure water. “I felt distressed and transformed the water of my eyes” (Thiruvachakam – Thirukazukkunrappathikam, verse-3) is not this what Manickam graciously said? Cleansing the eyes – adorning – beautifying, this too I say. By suitable means, if you purify the impure water, cleanse the eyes – adorn – beautify, then the pure water will flourish, I say. Those possessing this quality – Kannappar – true devotees, I say.

“I saw the Lord who wore the garland of blossomed Konrai flowers on His hair.”

Kannappa submitted an application, did you see…

(Thirumaarperu – Thiruthandagam, Verse-6)

Submission – Pure Water. Vin Jnanakacham. Kannappal – Transforming impure water to enhance eye beauty. The devotees who have achieved this success are the ones who are truly blessed. When the flow of pure water increases, the benefit is that the subtle powers – all the subtle energies become perceivable. This is what is known as the eye of wisdom. Achieving this is not easy. It takes a lot of effort. This is known as Upanayanam. Those twice-born individuals who have undergone such a true Upanayanam are the ones who become eligible to see and recite the true Vedas within themselves. What is the benefit of reciting these Vedas? It is said that one can understand and practice all the virtues, attain purity, achieve eternity, and attain the ultimate abode – liberation. This is what is conveyed by

There is no righteousness apart from the Vedas.

Leaving the argument, the wise thrive in abundance.

They attained liberation by chanting the Vedas. (Thirumanthiram, Verse 51)

Though he taught the Vedas, he is not a Vediyan

The Vedas proclaimed and illuminated the knowledge

Vedhan said to show the true meaning. (Thirukkural 52)

Within the Vetham (scriptures) lies the manifest beauty

Feel the steel, feel the mouth, rise in the Vedas

“Vedic scholars who created Verukku say”

The dark-hued Krishna stood firm. (Thirukkural 53)

The number of crores in the position

Beneath the roots, there it remains

Arukkanum Somanum Aarazhal Veeca

The melted bronze emits light, indeed. (Thirukkural 93)

Holy path is not just wisdom and knowledge alone, but addition of both is

Thinking of the Great Guru, the Enlightened One

The teaching is indeed the great path of Shiva.

Continuously contemplate Vedanta. (Thiruvarutpa 54)

Six parts were recited, the great scripture

There is no one to practice virtue by calculating the parts

Another part acts as a result and then later

He increases and becomes an asset.(Th. Ma. 55)

Our lineage guru Thirumoolar has blessed us with this wisdom: Reciting the truthful Vedas will not lead to debates; neither will there be disputes; it will result only in complete knowledge and true peace. This will lead to salvation. The pure experience of unity will become both the Vedas and Agamas for each soul. Such truthful Vedas being recited by the Dwijas (twice-born) ensure them the eternal form of our Lord, stating firmly that “Our Lord remains as the silent embodiment.” This was mentioned by Sivavakiyar.

The body that embodies the Almighty’s form is referred to by Thirumoolar as “Eesamil Kaayam” (Thirumanthiram – Ninmalaavathai). This is the ‘O’ form – the Pranava form – the pure Maya form – also known as the subtle form. This form is reserved for those who have attained the state of Jeevan Mukti completely. For practitioners whose bodies are in the impure Maya form and the deluded state, becoming purified and pure – becoming subtle is subsequently sought after.

Those who are unaware of the truth called reincarnation are misguidedly explained as if the soul, after leaving the deceased body that has become lifeless, will assume a pure ethereal form, which is contrary to nature.

Since purity emerges brightly at the culmination of impurity, and as that impurity, when perfectly pentified and transformed, attains the state of duality, the subtle form of pure Maya arises as an effortful branch. So, how are the sound and mind transformed in the altered time? It is said that sound serves as food for the mind and the mind as food for sound, balancing each other with equanimity, merging as Shiva and Sathya. The following affirmation will elucidate this truth clearly for us.

Madurakavi Alvar

Question: If something small is born in the stomach of the dead, what will it eat and where will it live?

Nammalvar

Answer: Eats its aunt and lies there.

Those who have seen the divine feet within themselves – those who have had the darshan of the Guru – they will transcend rebirth, disease, old age, and death, and attain eternal bliss.

Birth, aging, and great hunger lead to disease.

May joy arrive here, devoid of death

Keep it in mind without forgetting (Thiruchcherai – Thirukkural Anthology, S.3)

Seeing the divine feet of the enlightened beings and holding that vision in the mind without forgetting is a herculean task. If it were an attainable task, it would just be empty words and not the truth. Why? Because, it is evident that they do not attain eternity by being reborn, succumbing to illness, aging, and eventually death. Without seeking the means of rebirth, can the entangled and fluctuating souls like us, caught in the web of illusion, see the divine feet and attain glory? Seeing the divine feet, holding that vision in the mind without forgetting, thereby being reborn, cleansing oneself from the cycle of illness, aging, and death, and obtaining eternity — could these feats be easy for beings like us? The greatness of seeing the divine feet has been well emphasized in the Thiruvasagam’s Thiruvandappakuthi poem, and also in the twelfth verse of the “Sethilappaththu”.

Due to true and proper consumption – by acting with firm conduct, if the physical body, composed of the five elements, attains integration, the sacred lotus feet of the Lord, who dances in the center of the Arur Lotus, will be seen. These sacred lotus feet, hidden within our body temple – revered as the sacred Veda. Known as the pure sound of “Ai”. This is what resonates continually – moving without moving – performing a dance. In the form of sound energy, when both male and female merge and blend, the resulting resonance is known as the harmonious sound of male and female, the sound of Ardhanarishvara. This is known as the divine lotus feet of the Lord. To see such divine feet, one must transcend bodily perception – transcend personal freedom and attain the great vision of the Supreme.

Believing as true the forms that arise and dissolve in the diversity of illusions—namely name and form, is a great ordeal that cannot lead to realization. Those engrossed in this illusory universe are the ones who suffer deeply. Regarding this, Pattinathadigal said, “Like being in the river without knowing the shore, you are drifting.” (Perundurai – Endless expanse; a place devoid of worldly diversions). Appreciating the vast expanse and swimming across the immense sea to witness the divine feet within it—seeking the vision of the Guru (the journey to the Guru’s abode) is not easy. Is it easy to swim across the ocean? Even seeing the shore of this vast ocean is an extremely rare feat. In Thiruvasagam Thiruvandap Pakhuthi Agaval, it is mentioned.

“Thiruvar Perunthurai Varaivil Eri”

Who can describe the toil he endured as he climbed peaks he envisioned? Can the struggles he experienced compared to the calamities of the Five Great Elements? What is the Great Elemental Dissolution? It is the merging of the five basic elements present in the body – the amalgamation. Experiencing unimaginable sufferings that others cannot comprehend or doubt, he endures.

“The bright flood of light spreads unhindered in all directions”

What will he do? Who knows? Without the Lord’s merciful glance, can this one be capable of performing the service? If you want to know what happens beyond, it can be understood from this song

“With enduring beauty appearing, the sword’s light gleams”

In which birth does anger intensify?

Roaring with Strong Compassion (Thiruandappakuthi – 70-74)

The act performed in the penance of Brahmajnana is to sever the bonds of the five senses and the threefold impurities that bind them. This is what is meant by “cutting the five-sense bonds with the sword.”

At that time, the heat emanating from the sun would cover the head, and a long stream of light would appear brightly and remain shining for a long time. This is what was meant by “Vemduyar Kōdai māttalai karappa nidhaežhil toanri vāļoli miļira.”

When performing the penances of Brahmajnana, multicolored light forms will appear on the body. Since they often flash like Indrakopa insects with red colors, he said, “In which birth did anger become excessive?” In the radiance of enlightenment, a festival occurs where light arts merge with sound arts. When light and sound unite, a state arises where the sound arts intertwine with the light. When one object collides with another, we call it friction. We can explore this a bit using the law of conservation of energy.

According to the law of conservation of energy, no energy is destroyed by friction force. Instead, it is lost in another form. Energy from other forms is converted into heat. When a ball rolling on the ground stops, it is because its kinetic energy is converted into heat, causing it to come to rest. Because heat dissipates quickly, many ancient philosophers, like Aristotle, believed that moving objects would lose energy if there was no driving force.

According to Newton’s laws of motion, an object does not require any force to move at a constant velocity (Newton’s first law). Force is required only to decrease or increase the object’s velocity.

When a force acts upon an object, the object undergoes acceleration. That is, its speed increases uniformly. The amount of acceleration (a) an object experiences under the application of a specified force (F) is determined by its mass (m). For the same force, an object with greater mass will experience less acceleration and an object with lesser mass will experience more acceleration. Therefore, a = F/m (F=ma is the mathematical form of Newton’s second law!) According to Newton’s second law of motion, a lesser amount of force is sufficient to accelerate a body with lesser mass. It is scientifically proven that to make objects with lesser mass act more, a lesser force is sufficient. This is what we implicitly teach through the practice of traditional customs and rituals like “Sudharazhi Thavam”.

Light is an energy with minimal mass. This minimal mass energy requires an external energy to accelerate it. That is called sound energy. When sound energy collides with light energy and they rub against each other, friction occurs and sound energy turns into heat. When sound turns into heat, it further transforms the light energy present with it into more heat. As a result, the thermal energy of light increases, becoming so intense that it heads toward the place where life exists as a massive explosion. This great explosion caused by the collision of light and sound creates various sounds. Thirumoolar refers to these sounds as the ten kinds of sounds. Among these ten kinds of sounds, the sound of the drum called ‘Perigai’ is one. When light and sound combine and dance together to attain life, the life light present there is stimulated by the frictional forces of these elements and starts vibrating with sound. To the observer, this appears like a dance. That is precisely what is meant by “murasu erinthu mapperum karunaiyin mulangi” (the drum beats and the great compassion roars).

It is here that the two actions were reconciled; they were separated differently. The essence of the two actions, body and soul, were reconciled and then separated differently – they were differentiated – they were transformed. How were they separated – transformed? To indicate that, the following rare great divine statements arose.

Like fragrance in a flower, it rises and spreads everywhere

The singular virtue that eliminates destructive action

Praise be to the Creator who also destroys
(Tiruvasagam – Thiru Aandap Paghudi)

Only if it has fragrance, it is a flower. Human beings do not desire flowers that do not have a scent. Similarly, the Lord radiates His divine grace as a fragrance that emanates from the flower-like holy feet, sitting resplendent in His glory. Fragrance comes from flowers; divine grace emanates from the sacred flowers of His feet. This divine grace continuously exists without disappearance, abundantly filling the holy feet flowers with a ceaseless presence, which is described as, “Like the scent in the flower, elevating and pervading everywhere without cease.”

The aspirant who has received the supreme knowledge of Brahman through the grace of the enlightened guru is surrounded by the divine powers and the sounds of the five senses. Standing amidst these sensory sounds (this is called the penance of the five fires), the aspirant performs the blazing penance, saying, “Today, grant me ease and grace.”

The ideal substance (Unporul) that can prevent this perishable body from decaying, is hidden within the essence of our divine feet as the esoteric, ancient, refined, and ultimate truth. This is what is meant by “the superior substance that prevents the decaying body from perishing.” We have been born with these subtle riches of knowledge within our body to prevent decay.

Three fold-clothing snakes, two of them eight inches each,
A machine exactly twelve inches in length,
Bind two unblemished eggs together,
And stand firm, let the body not perish.
(Thiru. Ma. 728)

With swift determination, the sage achieves his goal
In three stages of joy, he remains in harmony
Those who have seen it may see, those who haven’t, won’t experience the result of their deeds
Their attachment breaks away, yet they continue to cling
(Thirukkural 752)

There is no destruction for the universe when it contracts.

Life will sustain in a compact form

“There are many solutions within a crisis.”

The skull turned dark also by the vulture (Thi.Ma.735)

If the disciple attains the knowledge-based practices from the Guru as guidance, his body reaches a state of imperishability. This is entirely a path of wisdom meditation that flows from Brahma knowledge asceticism. To reach this state, the Lord is seated within me very simply, residing within our life force. In praising and glorifying such a Lord, it is said, “Today, he came to me with simplicity, I praise Him.”

Transformative Creation – Initially an “inert body” (subject to the effects of karma), this deluded body is transformed. It has now become a “pure body”, a “formless body”, and a “protective body”. One might say it has transitioned or evolved.

The religion known as Hinduism, also known as Vindu religion, is believed to have achieved true realization. They say, “The body, which is the vessel of love (that contains salt and bitterness) became pure and blissful.” (Avayavam – organ. Uru+Uppu.) Is this all? No, no. He conquered the three impurities associated with the body (sarira) called Muthoor in the great fire of grace. He subdued even the weight of ignorance. In the sacred Mantra that begins with “Mukti Mudal,” he realized the thirty-six principles within the body. He channels streams of nectar through each and every hair follicle (saying that impurity has become purity). He made it possible to achieve deathlessness without facing physical death. The foundation (shelter) was established and attained greatness. Streams of nectar were installed in the bone channels. A flood of nourishment (Al+Ur+Aakkai) formed. Due to the arousal of divine power, the body transformed into a divine and immortal form. Disease, aging, mortality, and rebirth were eradicated, achieving eternal truth. Isn’t this transformation the rebirth! Isn’t this the true rebirth! This is indeed eternal truth – the path to liberation (Moksha). The following divine words come to affirm this truth.

The Jeevanmukta with this nature, for some time, remains as universal guru and engages in divine service. Thereafter, this pure form merges as grace and dissolves into the formless, disappearing into the vast space of consciousness and becoming one with Shiva – thus attaining the true Saiva Mukti. This should be understood as the essence of the Vedic truth.

Thus transformed, born anew with grace – in the open – in the form of the knowledge sky, revealed to the world – who perceived reality, whose experiences transcended – who conquered fate – who triumphed over illusion – who found the path of no return – who attained eternal state, can be said.

Without understanding the nature of reincarnation, considering the true body as a false entity—effectively turning it into a corpse—they get caught in the web of illusion, die and return according to the fate of other beings who have entered the impure world of Maya. Can there be any doubt about this? Is there even a need to doubt? “There is no destiny for those who reach the ultimate truth,” said Avvai, revered as the incarnation of the primordial truth, as firm as a mountain of silver. Did she ever consider this? Is there a need for a more authoritative source? Isn’t it clear from this that the transformation of the body into a corpse is the cycle of rebirth?

All feelings are just for the body’s benefit.

“Realize the emotion of the one who has feelings”

Said Avvai. “We speak what is present only to those who feel,” said Thirumoolar. “Through the gateway of emotions, the perceptive ones persist,” said Tholkappiyar. Therefore, let the perceptive understand. Let the unperceptive enthusiasts be content at their level.

From what we have discussed so far, understanding the truth through imagination and following the guru’s path to be born differently is unknown. Believing those imaginations to be true and living accordingly makes it impossible to achieve the fourfold virtuous benefits. It is also known that altering the body and soul to pure and immaculate states by harmonizing dual actions is rebirth as the concept of ‘Dvijatva.’ For such transformations, those pure devotees who live in constant practice of Brahma Jnana (divine wisdom) win over fate and attain true liberation by merging invisibly into the cosmic space ‘Chidakasha.’ They are the ones who disappear from the world and attain true liberation, which is the immutable truth known as ‘Maruva Neri.’ Conclusively, we understand that this is the ultimate path. To express our eternal gratitude for providing this discourse to help all souls achieve Brahma Jnana and for revealing the secret of rebirth, our revered guru, Sri Paramahansa Sundarananda Maharishi Ayya, thank you a million times and offer our humble respects at your divine feet. With humility, we take leave from you.
